ARG-014
Hard constraint
layer: paragraph
Compare like with like
IF compared items differ on an uncontrolled dimension that drives the result, THEN normalize, qualify, or reject the comparison ELSE retain.
Why the rule exists
A comparison cannot isolate a difference when another major dimension varies with it.
Condition
The rule fires when this evaluates true. Paths marked below must be present in the fact base; the engine reports the rest rather than guessing them.
- ALL
- comparison.exists eq true
- comparison.confounder_drives_result eq true
Facts this rule reads
| Path | Source |
|---|---|
comparison.exists |
You supply it |
comparison.confounder_drives_result |
You supply it |
Then
- repair — target

Else
- retain — target
current_text, No triggering condition is present.
